Fitzroy Island

‘We took a ferry from Cairns to Fitzroy Island one morning.  The journey there was about 45 minutes of bliss.  Blue sea, blue sky, dolphins, and we passed lots of islands.  Once there I hired a paddleboard while my kids and husband did some snorkeling with the sea turtles!  In the afternoon, we walked the coastal path of the island to Nudey beach.  It’s a pristine beach of white sand and coral.  Before catching the ferry back to Cairns in the late afternoon, we had some food and cocktails at the beach bar.  We definitely will be back, and we will stay a few nights in the hotel there when we do.  It’s one of the few places my kids talk about wanting to go back to!’
