Places to eat in Western Australia

This page has been designed to allow migrants to nominate places to eat that makes them feel like home as many of our UK clients ask us where to find a decent curry or roast for example.

If you come across a place that you would like to recommend please feel free to complete the below form. If you can take a photo or video of the place or food even better!

It could be anything from fish and chips, to high tea and everything in-between…

Settling in to Australia has its challenges, if you know where to get a good feed it can help with the ‘Home Sickness’.

No matter where you came from in the world we would love to hear your feel good recommendations. Please click the button below to add.

Date Night

Dinner at Dusk - This has been my sons favourite thing to do since being in Australia. On a Saturday night at a different beach each week (check Facebook for the location,) a collection of food trucks set up in the car park by the beach and create a wonderful family atmosphere. They have live music playing and tables and chairs set out for you to sit on, after enjoying some wonderful food from Chinese to Mexican to chocolate cake we like to head down to the beach to watch the sun set over the ocean.

Birdies Restaurant Kennedy Bay with The Roberts Family

By the golf course in Kennedy Bay there a wonderful family friendly restaurant that’s has the most wonderful great value food, the portion sizes are huge and there’s a golf themed park right by the outdoor tables so the kids can play and run around while you enjoy a drink as you wait for your dinner.

Jindalee Beach Shack

If you are North of the river and want to grab something to eat or drink with a beautiful view, then visit Jindalee Beach Shack. There is a small park and an outdoor restaurant with stunning views over looking the coast. A great place to enjoy a cocktail or a coffee whilst the kids play.

Outback Jacks, Currambine

One thing I think Perth lacks in is the UK style pubs with the outdoor/indoor play area’s for kids. Outback Jacks is a family restaurant located in Currambine & Northbridge with a fun kids indoor play area. Their food is fairly cheap too.

The Amberton

If you are looking for somewhere to eat with a view, The Amberton is the place to go. Located In Amberton – North of the river, this restaurant is somewhere to enjoy in the day and a beautiful spot to watch the sunset in the evenings. This is a family favourite spot for us. There is also an enclosed park next to the restaurant so the kids can safely play nearby.

Hamptons is one of favourite restaurants. Its located in City Beach, with stunning views over the ocean. Really nice cocktails and the food is beautiful. They do great food for the kids too!

Old wild west in Hillary's, is perfect for a family meal out. Their menu is burgers, steak and ribs, and the food is pretty nice.
Also we love Swell at Mullaloo. This restaurant has beautiful views over the ocean. They do a really good kids menu too. You can go in for a friday arvo drink or a meal. The main restaurant is inside and they also have a an outdoor seating area too. Food is gorgeous! Also dog friendly outside!

The Woodvale Tavern is really good for carvery meals. They do Sunday carverys where you get 3 courses for $34 for adults and $15 for kids.
They also do themes meals and events. We recently went to Christmas in July, which was amazing. Decorated all christmassy with Santa for the kids, plus balloon artists and a kids zone, where the kids can watch films, make crafts etc. The kids didn’t want to leave!

They also have a great sports bar next door, and the Perth whites have Leeds united games running in the bar!

Bunnings

If you are ever near a Bunnings at the Weekend, which you’re never too far from. A $3.50 hot dog is a must. Held by locals to raise funds for local charities and organisations, it’s a cheap tasty lunch that helps the community!
