Overview:
This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Individuals who work in this sector work with people of all ages and abilities to design and facilitate leisure and lifestyle programmes. Activities created are designed to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of individuals.
The leisure and lifestyle coordinator provides opportunities where individuals may choose to participate in leisure and recreation activities which promote self-esteem and personal fulfilment. The leisure and lifestyle coordinator facilitates individual client choice, decision making and participation when developing and managing recreational programmes.

In association with Disability Training Services RTO 45712, DUC can offer our clients who wish to work in the Aged Care Industry a pathway when they arrive in Australia.
- You enrol into the Theory component of the training whilst still in home country.
- Based on experience (past knowledge) the program can take up to 9 months to complete the Theory.
- Once in Australia, you will need a police check, (so can reuse your checks you obtained for your Visas) and placement will be arranged for you.
- You need to complete 120 hours of on-the-job placement to complete your practical assessment.
