WA Gould League

WA Gould League is a Wetland Centre just out side of Perth CBD. It is a great place to learn about nature for all ages and has a great Kids play group on a Thursday that teaches 3-5 year olds about nature and gets them outdoors.

Baldivis Children’s Forest

If you’re after a nice quiet walk with the kids then it’s lovely to spend an hour or two wandering the forest here. They have an area in the middle where they do some children’s messy play classes and story time on certain days. There’s public toilets here and a lovely seating area if you’d like to take a picnic, they have a book swap station in the centre which is a nice to be able to borrow a book and read it to the kids in the forest or swap one to take home, there are different paths to follow and I took a running pram across the paths which handled the them easily. I wouldn’t really fancy it with a normal pram but anything with sturdy off-road wheels would be fine, there’s so much nature to find there, trees to climb and dens to make for the kids.

The Roberts Family

Perth Zoo

A great day out for all the family, wear comfortable shoes as there’s a lot of walking. There are also a few great picnic spots throughout to keep costs down or food trucks if you want to treat yourselves.

S&R Orchard

Tucked up in Perth hills is S & R Orchard, it’s a very cute little orchard which I can only describe as made for Instagram. There was a lovely little food court section with food trucks to pick from but there main attractions seemed to be scattered though there orchard, there are many photographic spots which have been set-up to capture the perfect ‘autumn’ pictures. There was a very small petting area with goats and a cute little tractor ride which my boys loved, it’s not on my would go back to list but was defiantly a fun few hours out the house on a Sunday.

The Roberts Family

Giggle Zone Play Centre

Perfect for all ages. The centre is split into two sides. One part is aimed at younger children up to the age of around 5 and the other side is for 5+ there’s not loads of seating but there is a small café and it’s great to let the kids burn off some energy. It also has a cute little play village in the centre of it for the kids to have some imaginative play.

The Aquarium of Western Australia is a great place to visit with or without the children. It’s got an amazing underwater tunnel with a moving floor to carry you through. My kids loved seeing all the sharks, stingrays and turtles up close, there’s also a lovely cafe there and a touch pool for the kids to be able to touch fish and star fish. There are beautiful views of Hillary’s boat harbour where you can stop off for a shop or some food.

Bunbury Wildlife Park

$14 entry for adults and $8 for kids! This place is a bargain. You can feed the kangaroos and birds and get some incredible photos to send home to the grandparents. Highly recommend the animal encounters they are included in the entry price.

Secret Harbour Octopus Park

This is one of the best parks I’ve found, my boys love it! Not only is it right on the beach front so you can sit and hear the waves as you drink a coffee on a bench, it’s also completely blocked in so they can run around with no worries that they might wonder off.  Some of it is aimed at slightly older children but it’s great for a quick escape out of the house for an hour or two.

The Roberts Family

Volcano Playground

If you’re ever looking for a few hours to entertain the kids closer to the city, Volcano playground is well worth a visit. It’s an amazing well thought out playground that the kids loved. It’s got a lake opposite with a green to sit on and have a picnic and bbq’s in the park. There’s a younger side for toddlers and younger children to play and an older side with large slides and volcano to climb for the older children. It’s such a great park I would highly recommend if you’ve got young children.
