Desert View Walk Trail / Pinnacles
The Desert View Walk trail is a 1.6 km loop walk through the Pinnacles Desert in the Nambung National Park, the scenery is beautiful. It does get rather hot on this walk, so I would avoid peak summer and earlier or later in the day.
The Pinnacles of Nambung National Park are natural limestone structures, dating back 25,000-30,000 years! It is a 2/2.5 hour drive from Perth, but is down as a must see whilst you are in WA. $15 entry per vehicle. LeighNatures Window with Michael
The famous Natures Window is located within the stunning Kalbarri National Park in Western Australia, between Shark Bay and Geraldton. This is an attraction you visit along with the Kalbarri Skywalk.

The Kalbarri Skywalk offers breathtaking views of the Murchison River gorge and its spectacular surrounding landscape. Float on air as you take a thrilling walk out along two cantilevered viewing platforms that hang in mid-air 100m above the gorge.

Whale Watching with Brodie
We decided to go on a whale watching tour with Rottnest Fast Ferries for my Father in Laws birthday while he was here visiting. It was a wonderful experience, the tour guide for the whale watching was from the AQWA in Hillary’s and was very informative, the boat had a front viewing point that you could go on to spot the whales and after a half hour journey out to sea we spotted various groups of Humpback Whales, they were mainly calf’s and Mothers making their migration to food down south, it really was a once in a lifetime experience!

Markets and Boutique Festivals
Perth Christmas Festival
Perth Christmas festival is a really good day out. It’s located in Burswood next to the Optus stadium. There is market stalls, food trucks, beer trucks, kids entertainment, arts and crafts, and a big screen playing Christmas movies. Really good for getting into the Christmas spirit!
Galleries and Events
Optus Stadium
The Optus Stadium is a great place to visit if you want to watch an AFL game, cricket or watch a concert, we even had UK football teams visit recently! The Optus stadium is located 10 minutes from the Perth CBD and offers multiple event spaces alongside playgrounds, two restaurants, public art, picnic and barbecue facilities and a network of walking and cycle tracks throughout. We often park at the Optus and go for a walk around the grounds and even get to see the odd dolphin in the Swan River!
Free Park Events
A great thing about Perth is that there are plenty of events that are held in parks. All completely free. We went to one in Quinn’s Rocks, there was so much to do. Inflatables, mini golf, animal petting, soccer games, show bags, market stalls, food stalls and games like giant Jenga and giant snakes and ladders. The kids were entertained for hours.
Gemma

Kings Park and Botanical Gardens
Kings Park and botanical gardens is a great place for a day out. We often take a picnic and sit and take in the amazing views over the city. Murrayfield Airport with Liam
Did an assisted flight today over Mandurah the pilot said I was doing so well controlling the plane for my first time he treated me to some acrobatics was so much fun think I might start getting my flying hours in and become a pilot as a side job/hobby
Take a trip on the train.
The train line in WA runs along the freeway, it’s super easy to hop on and off and easy to access for park and ride. We jump on and pay $10 for a family ticket, this takes us into the city from Currambine and back again. Definitely more fun for the kids and it’s cheaper than paying to park in the city. It does cost to park at the station, so we usually park closely where it’s free parking.
