Fairy Penguins, Phillip Island
The fairy Penguins in Phillip Island are not cheap to do but the money goes towards the conservation. You sit on the steps at the beach and watch them come up. (You are not allowed to take any flash photography) You then walk back up the board walks and can watch them climb in to their boxes and homes. There is an information centre that has a penguin museum and a gift shop.

Take all your money! Discounted big name brands. If it all gets too much you can sit on the bench seat outside and watch the planes. It is near a small craft airport.
